Hello family and everyone else who get's forwarded this email,
okay here we go this is my last week at the MTC i'm getting up at 4 in the morning to fly to ST George on the 29th. i know flying weird right? i think a bus would make more sense but any ways i'm excited to go to the feild and do some real mission work.
this week has consisted of countless mind blowing classes and a strong spirit felt all around. Brother Strong is one of the most amazing teachers i've ever had. he teaches a religon class at byu.
on sunday i was called up to the up to speak for five minutes in front of our zone during sacrament meeting. usually i wouldn't talking Gospel without notice sweat it but my district leader never got us the topic to speak on. i later learned i was to speak on prophets but i talked about the plan of salvation. it gave my district a bunch of laughs and a very embarassed and sorry district leader. his name is Elder Seager but he is a pretty cool guy still.
i went to the Temple again today and while walking there i hear two guys shout "HEY IAN!" i looked and it was Elder Bryan Sunby and Elder Tyler Boyd. they are the guys from sherwood park who i would hang out with and longboard with all the time. they got word from Elder Max Jaffary that i was going to the temple today and they decided to come with. it was so stellar to see them! we went through a session together and got pictures after. Max clouldn't make it but Tyler called him for me after so we could talk for it bit. they are all loving they're missions. it was so great to see them.
In the mail i got two postcards from mom and dad (thanks i'll put them on my wall!) and i yellow slip of paper. this curios yellow slip of paper was an invite to the salt lake temple. being Canadian i count as a foreign missionary and get to go to a session at the Salt Lake Temple on Friday. WOOT! my zone is completely american except for two elders amd a sister. everyone else is pretty jealous haha! i can't wait i'm told it's an amazing temple.that's is on firday
i haven't really talked about the food here..hmm here it goes. the food is really good for the most part with a couple not so good dishes every once in a while. i have one major dissapointment though. THE CHOCOLATE MILK IS TERRIBLE!!! dang Americans don't know how to make a good cup of milk. that was probably the hardest part about the MTC to be honest.
I see Nathan everyday and Kam (sherwood park friend) is supposed to get here today so i'm hoping to see him.
I won't lie a miss you guys a lot. thankfully i know i'm in the right place and that makes it an easier pill to swallow being away from all of you. the church is true and this is such and important work. i love being here and i can't wait to actually be in the field.
