week 3

Can you guys believe it it's been a month and a half already! time has been flying

this week has been fun. i'm feeling a lot more comfortable. today Elder Doane and i are going on splits so we'll be without eachother. i'm going and teaching 3 lessons with a 17 year old preist. that forces me to be the season veteran out of us 2. i'm a little worried i'm hoping the spirit will do most of the work. Elder Doane never sent his last companion on splits but he feels i can handle myself so we'll see. i've only done one lesson without him so far.

sounds like the weather back home is pretty nice that's definitely not the case here. it's been really rainy lately and everyone thinks it's really cold. i like it though but then again we don't have to spend much time in it cause we have a car. it's nice though this place is beautiful? mountains on one side and 20 minutes away there is desert. Dad you said it was like an old western movie and you are right. that goes for the people out here to. there are no shortage of cowboy boots and hats here. everyone here hunts to. it's the start of deer and elk hunting season. kids even get school out for it. the problem with that is half our investigators leave to go shoot some of them. no one has been home. for this area it would be nice to have a hunting calender or something so we know why people have been missing.

it's been really busy here this past week. we have 8 progressing investigators and 5 on date to be baptized! there is a chance between Elder Doane and our splits tonight we'll have 3 more on date!

sorry again there are no pictures. next week i'm going to the big city of price so i'll make sure to print some off

one thing i really didn't expect when coming on a mission and teaching people all days was just how much love there is in teaching investigators. i love them they are such good people and you can feel such a strong spirit from them. Elder Mckay always said "love everyone." i've really learned this to be true.

i love you guys so much the church is true. i can't wait to write home and tell you guys about the first baptism i can attened.
Elder Ian Dyer

ps our mice count as of this morning is 3. we need 6 more to catch up with the moab elders
